水泥是世界上人类使用的仅次于水的物质，水泥生产配方中要求对石灰岩加热，这要用到石化燃料。而在加热石灰岩以及燃料燃烧时，产生的二氧化碳气体散入大气层，都会导致全球变暖。水泥制造是世界上人为二氧化碳排放总量中占了5%的比例；在美国，只有石油燃料的消费（用于交通、电力、化工制造等用途）以及钢铁工业，超过水泥制造排放出更多的温室气体。随着象中国以及印度这样的新兴国家用水泥浇注他们的崛起的时候，水泥的污染赫然成为最突出的全球性问题。
这是一篇科普小文章，觉得日常熟见的水泥，却有许多东西我所不懂的。去年2011年12月发表的旧文。
